Meeting minutes

Ooh oowuh! ... Ping pong pong tong ping ting tong, y'all!

the first official board meeting was epic.

1. the ongoing level challenge has been established. berg and gd will start at the $1-$2 game with $600. when they have $1200, they move on to level 2, the $2-$4 game. no-cash-havin'-luke will start at the .50-$1 level with $300 and aim for $600 for his next level. when someone reaches a new level, they will buy something that costs 100-150 big bets of the old level. when berg and gd reach $1200, they will be purchasing the cribs combo. luke's next level purchase (NLP) is yet to be determined. if you somehow drop below 100 big bets of the old level after levelling, you must level down.

in summary, to participate in the ongoing level challenge (OLC), play until you have 300 big bets of the next level up. at which point, you will purchase the pre-determined NLP. don't drop below 100 big bets of the lower level or you will have to level down.

2. berg sported the double jacket at the meeting. ping ting tong PONG!

3. the 2 day player challenge will be going down next weekend. bring your wireless enabled laptops to luke's house on saturday and don't leave until you've won $50 and can buy your members only jacket (MOJ). if you make the $50, you can then move on to trying to make another $50 to buy the gucci visor (the gooch). bottom line, make at least $50 playing poker between friday and monday or ... contemplate suicide.

4. lubs cannot make posts on the blog.

this message is getting long like ping tong pong tong so i'll leave it up to my boys to fill in the blanks.

and i'm spent (PC 1 officially comes to a close)

With one day to spare, f’n berg brings challenge #1 to a close. Using only the pp account, berg hit the 225 mark after another day replete with swings.
This challenge wasn’t free from controversy and the board is still out final ruling. As long as the decision to ban berg from the challenge doesn’t come down, this should mark a wrap to the first poker challenge.

ruling needed for controversial bankroll situation

Leave it to f'n berg to bring in the controversy on the first poker challenge. The deal is, when the challenge started, berg only stated the amount in his pp roll because he didn't plan on playing any ub for this challenge. On the first night of the challenge, berg saw gd playing a lil 5-10 ubet, he wanted to jump in and give it a run. Only having 92 bones in the ubet roll, berg had to play a lil 1-2 to bring his roll up to the 100 bone min. required to sit at 5-10.
Berg made the money to sit 5-10 and then jumped in the game with gd. Once the round was done, berg found himself down to $40 in the ub roll and headed out of the 5-10 for some plo. Playing plo the next day, the roll went back up to over 100 and berg jumped back into 5-10 with gd. Berg was feel'n the game a lil more the second night and brought the roll close to $200.

Question is, can berg use his ub roll as part of the challenge? Should the ub money be excluded from the challenge? Should berg be disqualified from the challenge all together? Should berg be kicked off the board and be ineligible to participate in any future challenges?

You make the call.

what's up with f'n berg

These last few days, you've seen me at my highest of highs and my lowest of lows. My roll has been channeling from -70 in the red to +150. I've tried switching up the game to 3-6 hold'em, 1-2 plo 8/b, and there was even a time when I gave a go at 2-4 omaha high and went for the low. Needless to say, in the words of J.J.... my roll, 'It went DOOOOOoooooowwn.'

But don't hate the playa, hate the game. I've got a couple of nights left and $25 to go.

Challenge update

Dave starts off strong by crushing the first poker challenge in 2 days (about 3 hours of table time). Congrats gd, for being the first winner of a poker challenge. Word on the street is that gd already placed his order for the Etymotic ER-4P. Let's hope he gets those bad boys in time to take them on his flight this week, so he can give them a test run and see if they play.

Poker Challenge Explained

A poker challenge begins with deciding how money will be spent at the end of the challenge, if the participant wins the amount required within a specified time frame by playing online poker.

If a player meets or exceeds the amount set by the challenge at anytime before the end of the challenge, he must immediately spend the money on whatever is set for the current challenge.

If a player fails to meet the challenge, he will never be able to spend money on whatever was up for grabs in that challenge.
